We are looking for experienced Industrial Maintenance Electricians to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of heavy industrial equipment in an aluminum casting/rolling manufacturing environment.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous quality improvement in accordance with company policies.
  • Adhere to all JSA’s (Job Safety Analysis) and Standard Work Instructions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Inspect, maintain, repair, overhaul solid-state low voltage (< 600VAC) motor control systems for primary plant equipment (AC and DC up to 3,000 hp) and support equipment (EOT cranes, evaporative cooling tower systems, air compressors, etc.).
  • Perform equipment automation and control system preventative maintenance and troubleshooting; Siemens 300/400 and TDC families of components, Siemens TIA Portal (step 7), Rockwell SLC, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix.
  • Perform motor drive system preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on Siemens and Rockwell families of drive systems.
  • Troubleshooting using PLC interface for diagnostics.
  • Assist in the installation, start-up, and commissioning of new equipment, as required; Assuring that all operations and utilities equipment complies with minimum Safety & Operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of equipment maintenance activities.
  • Assists in writing and reviewing of operational and safety JSAs on plant Equipment; improves procedures and develops new JSAs based on observations and experiences.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment.
  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
  • Observe and evaluate the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using a variety of testing devices.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials, as necessary.
  • Record repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Study blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.
  • Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
  • Demonstrate equipment functions and features to operators.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three (3) years of continuous work experience in a manufacturing environment with automation, calibrated instrumentation, electrical and mechanical repairs, and laptop to PLC interfaces.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electronic/electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of PLC logic, industrial automation, and control systems, in-line measurement systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics, etc. preferred.
  • Able to systematically troubleshoot problems for highly technical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Able to safely operate a forklift, overhead cranes, and an aerial lift on occasion.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma supplemented by 3+ years of continuous electrical maintenance and repair experience in a manufacturing environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to perform all essential physical functions of working in a manufacturing environment such as, climbing, standing, bending, reaching, and squatting.
  • Hands to finger use – fine motor skills such as, turning, grasping, pinching, wrapping, writing, typing, etc. 
  • Must be able to lift to fifty pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Working with and near electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment.
  • Working in and on machines in an uncontrolled climate.
  • Rotating shift work and overtime required to include weekends and holidays as needed.
